Well… Jr High volleyball is done.  The girls learned a lot and had a great season.  We had our last match today, it was a playoff game and whoever won was going to the championship on Thursday.  We lost, but we won one of the 3 games played so I have nothing to complain about.  My girls played their hardest and enjoyed learning the game of Volleyball.  They are all winners in my book because the all accomplished a goal that they had set for them self at the beginning of the season.  I loved being their coach and enjoyed the opportunity to teach them about a sport I love.  I was also able to encourage them to let the Lord get the glory for wins and losses.  We had a wonderful time drawing closer to the Lord and learning how to honor Him.

So we didn’t win first place in the division, but we did get 3rd.  Yes, we would have loved to win 1st place but the Lord knew we need the lesson in humility.  I for one appreciate the learning processes and the chance to try again next year.

Well, the new year is here and it brought tiredness and work with it.  I am doing good, just tired from to many late nights on vacation and traveling.  On New Year’s Eve, James, Ruth, Daniel, and I stayed up playing Wii until midnight and then went out onto the porch to watch some of the fireworks across the bay.  We said our Happy New Years… finished our game and went to bed.  Mom and Dad had been up playing games with us but went to bed around 10.  It was a very nice and relaxing vacation.  We didn’t really go places, We did the whole “I am going to the mall, Does anybody else want to come?” We never all went the same place together.  It was much more fun to stay home and enjoy the time together.  We got home on Saturday night and have been going none stop ever since.

I have been back at work for 2 days and I am already getting some extra hours so that is nice.  I am also coaching jr. high girl’s volleyball and the first game of our season is on Thursday.  I am looking forward to it… I am also hoping for a winning season, but I don’t know if I will get that.  Yesterday was James’ 24th birthday.  One of his students brought him a cake and we went out to dinner with my parents, Tim, and Ruth.  TGI Friday’s has good food and after we had stuffed ourselves we got our dessert to go and headed to our house to play some Wii and hang out.  It was a great ending to my vacation.

I am back to being busy.  I have volleyball practice Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri from 3:45-5:00.  The extra time is nice for James since it gives him time to work on stuff at school and church.  I am also able to volunteer in the school office and I really enjoy that.

I hope you all had a great vacation. :)

So I will catch you up on this last week and then talk about the Couples Conference!

On Wednesday, I worked my normal scheduled hours and then went to get my allergy shots!  After that I headed back to the church to help get ready for the Beach Blast!  We had a lot of fun at the beach!  It was a little cool but not too windy so that was nice!  We enjoyed the fire, food and worship service!

On Thursday, I also had a normal work schedule.  I then had volleyball practice and then James and I headed home and did some cleaning!  We also watched Facing the Giants and had a wonderful evening together just relaxing!  We also packed to go visit my parents on Friday night!

Friday, I once again worked a normal schedule and then ran home to pick up a few things we had forgotten at home!  I then headed back to the school for the last Jr High Girls volleyball game!  The girls played a great game!  They won!  The first game we won 25-16, The second game the other team won 25-22.  But we won the last game 15-12 and the girls were so happy!  I am very proud of them!  They played a great season!  James and I left straight from the gym and headed up to Pomona to attend Lighthouse’s Couples Conference!

The Couples Conference was wonderful!  We got there at 6:30 and had a sit down dinner in the fellowship hall.  The first session was at 7:05 so we had to eat somewhat quickly!  The first session was split and the ladies were in the youth room with Mrs. Dunlop and the guys were in the auditorium with Pastor Dunlop!  The ladies session was on learning to love your husband more and I really enjoyed what Mrs. Dunlop had to say!  The next session was a combined session in the auditorium and Mr. Pryde taught this one!  The title was “The Anatomy of a Kiss”  It was very scientific and basically he talked about how you need to communicate and how you need to make your whole day about your spouse.  I also really enjoyed the split session this morning by Mrs. Pryde!  She talked about how Chocolate is a really nice thing to get and how it brightens her day, but if you become bitter about things in your marriage nothing, not even encouragement, will brighten your day!  She gave a lot of signs of bitterness and told that only love and forgiveness will heal bitterness!  I was really encouraged!

Another thing that I really enjoyed was the discussion panel they did this year!  Last night they had everyone write down a question about marriage.  Then This morning they had Pastor and Mrs. Dunlop and Mr. and Mrs. Pryde answer as many as they could!  It was nice to hear the different questions and the answers that were given!

All in all it was a great time of fellowship and learning how to become a better wife!  I am very glad that James and I went and that we have such Godly examples to follow.

So my dad is also doing much better!  He was able to work 2 half days this week and was able to go to the whole conference!  He gets tired quickly but is doing okay!  Today he came home and went to his room to take a nap!  His blood pressure is still high but it is slowly coming down!  he said this morning that he was feeling better today then he has all week so that is encouraging!

So the last two weeks have been really long and have made me very tired!  My dad is doing better!  He is still not 100% but definitely not in the hospital so that is good!  He had a test done yesterday and has been resting at home today!  I will be seeing him on Friday and Saturday since we will be at Lighthouse for the couples conference!

Last week after Tuesday, Bethel had its Missions Conference! So Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights we were at church!  Thursday, I also had a volleyball game, which we lost!  Friday, I worked all afternoon in a K-4 nap room!  On Saturday, we ran some errands and then came home and cooked for the international dinner at church that evening!  We had a fairly regular Sunday, which included a nap, so that was nice!  Yesterday, I was really tired due to the fact that I only got 3 hours of sleep on Sunday night, but I was able to take a nap in the afternoon and that really helped.  Last night, I was able to hang out with some married ladies my age and just have a great time of fellowship and food!  We had pasta, garlic bread, and chocolate fondue with strawberries, marshmallows, rice crispy treats, and such!  It was really good!  James got to hang out with the husbands of most of those ladies and the hit balls at the batting cages and went out to dinner!

Finally I am to today!  I went to work at my normal time but my schedule was anything but normal!  I did the morning teacher breaks, but then at 11:45 went and subbed in 2nd grade until 3:00!  At 3:00 i changed and headed to teh gym with the girls for a volleyball game!  We almost won!  We lost the first game, but won the second game and went into the third game excited!  We lost the third game 13-15!  Bummer but the girls played really well and they did a good job!  Man I don’t like rally scoring!  Oh well!  So now I am relaxing at home and enjoying the first evening home in 3 weeks with James!

So today James and I took the day and decided to spend time with only each other!  We started off with strawberry pancakes and coffee for breakfast!  Around 10:00 we headed to the allergist in Chino Hills so I could get my shots!  James had decided to do a destination unknown with me so I had no clue where we were headed but we were going south on the 5 fwy!  Around 11:30 we arrived in San Juan Capistrano!  We toured the Mission there and I got some awesome pics!  After that we headed to BJ’s in Laguna Hills for lunch!  It was delicious!  From there James took me to Downtown Disney to a store called Basin, (it specializes in bath products) and I got some soap and stuff!  We are at home and have had a wonderful day so far!  James is planning on making dinner tonight and we are just relaxing around the house now!  Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone!

For the beginning of the week, we had school like usual and volleyball practice!  Because of the rain yesterday I cancelled practice which was nice since we had Casey and Becky Kuhlman coming over to visit us that evening!  The volleyball game we had scheduled for Thursday got cancelled.  It was rescheduled for later in the season!  Other than this I had a fairly normal week!

So we had our 4th game today and we won in 2 games!  I am so proud of my girls!  They played awesome and worked together as a team!  The first match we won 25-15 and the second match we won 25-22!  We tried a new rotation and it worked much better than the previous one!  We also had gotten to work on some of our techniques!  I think they did great considering we have only had 3 practices since our last game!  This was not my choice!  We practice outside and since we have had rain the last week or so it makes it hard to practice!  We went into this game ready to play and did just that!  We have another game on Thursday and hopefully will win that one also! :)  Thanks for all of your encouragement and support!  I appreciate it!

So my week didn’t get any less busy!

On Thursday, I actually got to work my normal hours at work!  My normal hours are 9-10:20 and 11:00-12:35!  I was asked to do nap room from 3:00-3:30 for a k-4 class, but then they didn’t need me!  So on Thursday afternoon I went to Chino Hills to get my allergy shots!  I was heading back to my house when I hit traffic that was dead stopped on the freeway!  I only sat in it for about 20 min and then we started moving again!  I made it back to the school for my Jr High volleyball meeting!  We only had a meeting because it was raining outside and we couldn’t have practice!  After practice James and I came home and spent a quiet evening hanging out!

On Friday, I dropped James off at school at 7:00 and came home to get a little bit more sleep before I had to be at work at 9:00!  I got up at 8:00 and was heading to the bathroom to get ready for the day when I heard my phone ringing!  It was Bethel calling because they needed a sub right away!  I got ready as fast as I could and got to the school at 8:30!  I subbed all day in a k-4 class!  It was a crazy day because it was raining out and I couldn’t take the kids outside to play!  I was tired by 3:30.  After school James and I headed to an educational store to purchase a few things for his classroom!  Then we headed home!  Tim and my mom came to visit us last night and it was great to see them!  They brought the Sue Thomas videos so I can watch them again.  Around 7:00 my mom and I headed over to Carrie Roman’s house to visit her and Tim and James hung out here and played Wii!  Mom and I got home around 9:00 and we hung out and talked for until around 10:45 and the mom and Tim headed home!  Because of the rain my dad had called to get some traffic info because he was stopped on the freeway and so my mom and Tim decided to take a different route home!  All in all it was a very enjoyable evening.

Today Ruth came to visit us and my cousin, Jeremy is supposed to be coming a little later this afternoon!  It has been a relaxing day!  We went to Chino Hills and I got my allergy shots.  We are just planning on hanging out and enjoying the time spent together!  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Well yesterday my girls played their 2nd game!  They started off much better than their last game!  We lost the first match 21-25 and the 2nd match 18-25 but they played their hardest and I am proud of them!  Our next game isn’t until Feb 10 so we have some time to work on a few things!  Serving will definitely be one of them!  :)

After the game, which started at 3:00 in the afternoon, James and I went grocery shopping and then came home and had soup and crackers for dinner!  At 8:00 we headed out to Trey and Anna’s so James and Trey could go to a meeting with some of the other male youth leaders and Anna, Rebekah J., and I hung out at the house and watched Fireproof!

This is a movie I highly recommend for all Christian couples!  It was a great movie about a couple who’s marriage is slowly falling apart and they have decided to get a divorce!  The father of the husband challenges him to wait 40 days before signing the divorce papers and gives him a book that has things to do for his wife for 40 days!  This movie has a very straightforward and crystal clear salvation message!  It is clean, but really shows you the struggle that couples go through!  I loved it and will definitely be watching it again!

Today I have had a problem with hives!  I did go and work my 3 scheduled hours and then I came home took Benadryl and went to bed!  I slept from 1:15-4:45 and am feeling much better!  Although the hives aren’t completely gone they are at least manageable for church and then I will take more Benadryl afterwards!

Please pray for this Sunday!  It is Bethel’s annual Main Event!  The one where we encourage all the teens to invite unsaved friends to come and watch the Super Bowl with us!  At the middle of the 2nd quarter, We have a service!  We have had teens saved in the past and are looking forward to seeing what the Lord will do through this activity!

I hope you are all doing well!

Well, we were supposed to have our first v-ball game yesterday, but the other team was a “no show!”  Coach Joel called them and was told that they had sent an e-mail to the league president the day before indicating that they didn’t have enough girls for a team!  Joel never got an email about this so we were all ready to go!  We had the gym until 5:00 so we decided to use it any-ways!  I split the girls up into 2 teams and we played a scrimmage  game!  It was a very eye opening experience for all of the girls!  James kindly recorded it so we can actually see how each girl played!  The girls and myself were disappointed but I was glad for the extra practice time!  Hopefully, we will be able to work on a few things and be more ready for our next game!  I will keep you posted!

So this week at school is Spirit Week and I am really looking forward to it!  Today is crazy hair day!  It is hilarious!  Pastor Matt had a bunch of little ponytails and a bow or two!  One of the office ladies had purple hair!  It has already been a fun day!  Tomorrow is Red, white, and blue day!  Also, the Jr High Volleyball team has their first game tomorrow!  Wednesday is Retro Day, Thursday is Multiplicity Day, and Friday is Warrior Day!  I am looking forward to a great week!

Among other news, I subbed in K-4 this morning and am not really sure what the rest of the week holds but I am loving the extra hours!

Hope you all have a great week!
