It was July 15th, 1999, Steve Pigott was the speaker at Summer camp at Verdugo Pines… He preached the message “Have You Touched First Base?” I remember the message clearly and I remember sitting through it under very heavy conviction because I knew that I had never actually given my life to the Lord… I had been fooling everyone except myself and the Lord… I went out behind the chapel and cried out to the Lord and told Him I was sorry for living a lie and that I wanted Him to be the focus and centered of my life, that I was tired of trying to live on my own and would He please forgive me of the sin I had committed against Him, and would He come into my life and make me a new person in Him.
I have never felt a burden so heavy lifted from my shoulders… I had found rest and solace in Him and he had changed my life… in the last 11 years I have had my moments of taking control and not following Him but I serve a great and merciful God and He hasn’t let me down since I gave Him my like… I am the one that has failed and I am the one that asks for forgiveness over and over for the same sin, but God still loves me and gives me more than just a second chance. I love the sovereignty and mercifulness of God. He is always there for me and He knows exactly what I need in my life. I am so thankful to be able to serve Him at Bethel Baptist Church and School. I am so thankful for the wonderful Godly husband He has given me… I am not the same person I was 11 years ago and it is all because of the grace of God!

]]> http://naesheart.com/2010/07/15/thankful-for-gods-grace/feed/ 1 Super Bowl and Sickness http://naesheart.com/2010/02/08/super-bowl-and-sickness/ http://naesheart.com/2010/02/08/super-bowl-and-sickness/#comments Mon, 08 Feb 2010 21:04:52 +0000 Renae http://naesheart.com/?p=755 Well yesterday was the Super Bowl and a very busy day for our youth group. ¬†We do an activity every year called Main Event and this year was no different. ¬†As we prepared for the big party we also took the time to pray for the visitors and the message that Matt would be giving. ¬†We barbequed hotdogs, put out candy and chips, we got the stuff ready for nachos… and then the game started. ¬†We had at least 100 teens… We went through a lot of food but the best part was all of the visitors heard a clear gospel message and were given the chance to speak with a youth worker… Yes the Saints won in a huge upset of a game, the kids ate so much candy and junk food that they probably went home sick, and I didn’t actually get to watch the game because of serving in the kitchen, but if the message made one teen think about their eternity it was all worth it…

Why the part about the sickness in the title, you may ask? ¬†well yesterday I had a really plugged nose and today when I woke up it was a full on cold so I stayed home from work and have been sleeping all day… I have a lot going on the rest of the week and I can’t afford to be sick, but then I stop and realize that God is still in control and he know what is happening in my life. ¬†I hope I feel better soon… I am going to go back to sleep now. ¬†Hope you all have a good day!
