Nae’s Heart

Well, the new year is here and it brought tiredness and work with it.  I am doing good, just tired from to many late nights on vacation and traveling.  On New Year’s Eve, James, Ruth, Daniel, and I stayed up playing Wii until midnight and then went out onto the porch to watch some of the fireworks across the bay.  We said our Happy New Years… finished our game and went to bed.  Mom and Dad had been up playing games with us but went to bed around 10.  It was a very nice and relaxing vacation.  We didn’t really go places, We did the whole “I am going to the mall, Does anybody else want to come?” We never all went the same place together.  It was much more fun to stay home and enjoy the time together.  We got home on Saturday night and have been going none stop ever since.

I have been back at work for 2 days and I am already getting some extra hours so that is nice.  I am also coaching jr. high girl’s volleyball and the first game of our season is on Thursday.  I am looking forward to it… I am also hoping for a winning season, but I don’t know if I will get that.  Yesterday was James’ 24th birthday.  One of his students brought him a cake and we went out to dinner with my parents, Tim, and Ruth.  TGI Friday’s has good food and after we had stuffed ourselves we got our dessert to go and headed to our house to play some Wii and hang out.  It was a great ending to my vacation.

I am back to being busy.  I have volleyball practice Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri from 3:45-5:00.  The extra time is nice for James since it gives him time to work on stuff at school and church.  I am also able to volunteer in the school office and I really enjoy that.

Well… I am on Thanksgiving vacation and it has been fun but tiring all ready.  It started on Wednesday around 12:45 when we left Bethel and headed up to San Francisco.  James, Ruth and I had a good trip and it only took us 7 hrs and 42 min.  This means we made really good time seeing as it was the day right before Thanksgiving.  On Thursday morning we headed out to Oroville, which is where Grandpa Richardson lives.  We had a great afternoon eating turkey and pie, playing games, and really just being with the family.

We left Oroville at 10:00 at night… Yes, that late!  We arrived at the Vacaville Outlets at Midnight. It was packed and crazy.  Some of the stores had lines down the side of the building and lines around the whole inside of the store.  It was so much fun… we left the outlets at 3:00 and headed to the JC Penney at Hilltop Mall we arrived there at 4:00 and did a little more shopping.  We went to Nations for breakfast and then headed home to get a few hours of sleep before we did more shopping. It was 6:00 and we were all tired, but we were back up and headed out shopping again at 11:00.  We hit Target, Kohl’s, Fry’s and Wal-Mart.  We arrived back home at 4:00 and we are definitely having a lazy evening at home.  Ruth fixed dinner and we are watching a Christmas movie as a family.

Good deals you ask. Of course we got some good deals, but I can’t reveal any of them since that is classified information until Christmas.  James and I did get a 4′ Christmas tree, a tree topper, and some ornaments.  Our first Christmas tree.

Tomorrow we are going to be decorating for Christmas and James and Dad are going to a car show.  We are having a great time and have had many good laughs.  Like today in the car I opened a bag of gummi bears and the bag exploded sending gummi bears all over the backseat.  We picked up as many as we could find and then dad decided to flick them out the window while we were sitting at a stop light. So he did… I found out that my family gets crazy when they are tired.  Check out Pictures here

Yesterday Ruth and I took a mini road trip to Fresno.  It was Ruth’s 21st birthday and we were going to have dinner with Mom A.  Mom A was doing a WASC visit at a school there and she had Ruth’s car.  Since Ruth had Daniel’s car we  were switching vehicles and what better day then Ruth’s birthday.  We left my house at 10:30 am, grabbed some breakfast, and hit the freeway.

We had a great trip… Lots of laughter, fun, and coffee.  We hit heavy fog going through the grapevine but Ruth handled it like a pro. We decided that Pixley is a very interesting town name and that California cows are happy because the smog makes them high.  We also decided that we like the 99 better than the 5 because of all the houses right by the road.  We got to the hotel where Mom was staying around 3:00 pm.  Mom got there just after 3:45 and Mom and Ruth opened birthday presents.  We went and walked around the small mall there.  It made Montclair Plaza look hugongous. We went to Red Robin for dinner and then back to the hotel.  All of this took 2 1/2 hours, but it was a great time with mom.

We headed home at 6:15.  We stopped for Starbucks in Delano and made the rest of the trip with no stops.  We started the trip in a Ford Focus Wagon and ended it in an ‘09 Versa with 600 miles on it when we left Fresno.  We arrived back at my apartment at 10:30 pm.  It was an 8 hour day in the car… 4 hours there and 4 home.

I missed James but enjoyed having a day off and spending time with Ruth.  It was nice to be home and my bed felt so good.  Check out the pictures here

Well my Saturday started out normal… sleeping in and enjoying a morning at home with James.  Around 10:00 we headed to Chino to get my allergy shots and then to wal-mart to pick up a few things and get a prescription filled.  We were home around noon and waiting for Ruth to come visit us.  Around 2:30 we got a phone call that Ruth had been in an accident.  She is okay but the car doesn’t look to good.  We went and picked her up and then followed the tow truck so we could clean the car out.  We headed home and then encouraged Ruth the go to Urgent Care just to make sure she was okay.  We had originally planned to hang out at the beach or the OC fair, but ended up at the Dr.’s instead.  After the dr.’s we grabbed some food and headed home.  We had a relaxing evening and then took Ruth back to Pomona.

On Sunday we had a great day at church.  The evening service was a prayer and praise service.  It was so refreshing to have a time of prayer and encouragement.  I love singing and praising the Lord.

So it is the first day of July and I have spent the day at the fireworks stand.  We got the product around 11:00 and were open for business just after 12:00.  Our first sale wasn’t until 2:45 and I don’t think we have sold anything since then.  I will probably be here everyday until the 4th.  I have been sitting outside for the last 2 hours making sure nobody walks off with our generator.  It is nice to sit in the shade and enjoy the breeze.  Although I do think my forehead got burned earlier today.

We have church tonight and then on the 4th we will have a picnic at the church. I am looking forward to hanging out with friends and family.  Ruth will be staying with us on the 3rd to the 4th.

I have a few things going on in July. James and I will be going to visit Rebekah and Matt in Delaware with my parents on the 28th.  We will return on August 4th. On August 6th I leave for Portland, Oregon for James’ cousin’s wedding.  I will be in Oregon until the 11th with the Ashton family and then on the 12th we will all drive back to San Francisco.  On the 13th Ruth, Daniel, and I will drive back down here to So Cal.  Daniel will be visiting us for a few days so I will have some company.  I am looking forward to visiting everyone this summer.

Well it is Monday, Memorial Day!  This has been a long but very fun weekend.  James, Ruth, and I left Thursday at 3:30 to head up to San Francisco for the Family Gathering in honor of Grandma Margie.  We got to Mom and Dad’s house around 11:30 pm and headed to bed.  We were all tired from the drive, we had hit traffic in LA.

On Friday morning we were up around 7:00 am and on the road by 9:00 am.  We were heading up to Oroville where the Family Gathering was going to be.  We took our time on the trip and got in just before 1:00 pm.  We then started getting things ready for Saturday.  We went to the store, printed pictures, cleaned the house, organized food, took a walk, and played with Melissa.  We had a great time and were all ready for the next day.  

On Saturday morning family started to arrive at 11:00 am.  We had a great turnout, about 75 people showed up to honor Grandma Margie.  It was great to meet family members that I hadn’t gotten to before.  Being with Melissa and the rest to the family made the whole day perfect.  We left there around 4:00 pm and enjoyed a quiet evening at home.  

Of course on Sunday we had church and the a Memorial Day church picnic.  It was freezing and no one had the proper clothing so we went to Target and found absolutely nothing to help keep us warm.  We headed to the Giant’s Dugout… a store that sells only Giants gear.  We found sweatshirts, beanies, and jackets to keep us warm.  Then we headed to the park.  It was a lot of fun even if it was really cold.  We got home around 4:00 pm and the siblings started to go through old pictures with their parents…Melissa and I both took a nap.  James fixed dinner and dessert.  We enjoyed spending time together as a family.

Today we are going through more pictures and having Bar-B-Qued porkloin for lunch.  We are also going to make ice cream.  James, Ruth, and I plan to leave around 2:00 pm and head back to LA.  I have really enjoyed being with the family.

Melissa has entertained us all… she will sign words or say them.  She now signs and says Auntie and Uncle.  She also says Grandma and Grandpa.  She is a charmer and so cute.  I love her and am really going to miss her.  I am glad that we got a lot of pictures of her.  I also got video footage of her playing with all of her aunties and uncles.

Well, in a nut shell my weekend has been really long!  On Sunday Morning I stayed home from church because of a really bad headache!  Around 12:30 I got a text message from Ruth telling me that my dad had gone to ER!  I immediately tried to call my mom, but got no answer so I called my brother and he had no idea what was going on!  So I called Pomona Valley Hospital and my dad was in the emergency room there!  So I texted James and told him and he came home from church right away!  We proceeded to pack some stuff up so we could stay overnight and headed up to Pomona!  We got there around 1:30 and he had been in the ER since 8:00!  Around 3:00 they admitted them and moved him up to a room!  They diagnosed him with diverticulosis and started treating him with antibiotics and morphine for the pain!  His blood pressure was really high also so they were giving him potassium for that!  We spent the afternoon there with my dad and then headed to church!  After church we brought my mom food and then headed to the Harvey’s for some food and games!  We got home around 9:30 and got ready for bed!  

Monday morning around 8:00 my mom headed back to the hospital to spend time with dad!  Ruth came over and we headed that direction around 10:00!  James meet us there because we had to run an errand before we went to see them!  Ruth and I were heading out to Ontario Mills to purchase some shoes and James decided to stay at the hospital with my parents!  Around 1:00 James and Tim came and picked me up from the dorm and we went to get food for all of us!  We got back to the hospital and Tim, Mom, and James decided to play Phase 10!  They played until 4:00 when Tim had to leave to go to work!  James and I left around 4:30 to go and get my allergy shots and then we headed back to the house to pack up all our stuff!  We then went to the hospital to gather the stuff we left there!  We left the hospital around 6:00 and headed home!  We got home and went to Matt’s house for a Bible Study and then went home and went to bed.  Around 10:45 I got a text message from Tim telling me that my dad was being discharged!  I asked him to have Mom call me when they got home and so I got a phone call around 12:00!  

This morning I took James to work at 6:30 and went  home to get a little more sleep before I headed up to see my parents!  I got there around 9:30 and have been hanging out ever since!  My dad is doing much better and I have enjoyed being able to spend time with him!  Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts!  We really appreciate them!

So my week didn’t get any less busy!  

On Thursday, I actually got to work my normal hours at work!  My normal hours are 9-10:20 and 11:00-12:35!  I was asked to do nap room from 3:00-3:30 for a k-4 class, but then they didn’t need me!  So on Thursday afternoon I went to Chino Hills to get my allergy shots!  I was heading back to my house when I hit traffic that was dead stopped on the freeway!  I only sat in it for about 20 min and then we started moving again!  I made it back to the school for my Jr High volleyball meeting!  We only had a meeting because it was raining outside and we couldn’t have practice!  After practice James and I came home and spent a quiet evening hanging out!

On Friday, I dropped James off at school at 7:00 and came home to get a little bit more sleep before I had to be at work at 9:00!  I got up at 8:00 and was heading to the bathroom to get ready for the day when I heard my phone ringing!  It was Bethel calling because they needed a sub right away!  I got ready as fast as I could and got to the school at 8:30!  I subbed all day in a k-4 class!  It was a crazy day because it was raining out and I couldn’t take the kids outside to play!  I was tired by 3:30.  After school James and I headed to an educational store to purchase a few things for his classroom!  Then we headed home!  Tim and my mom came to visit us last night and it was great to see them!  They brought the Sue Thomas videos so I can watch them again.  Around 7:00 my mom and I headed over to Carrie Roman’s house to visit her and Tim and James hung out here and played Wii!  Mom and I got home around 9:00 and we hung out and talked for until around 10:45 and the mom and Tim headed home!  Because of the rain my dad had called to get some traffic info because he was stopped on the freeway and so my mom and Tim decided to take a different route home!  All in all it was a very enjoyable evening.

Today Ruth came to visit us and my cousin, Jeremy is supposed to be coming a little later this afternoon!  It has been a relaxing day!  We went to Chino Hills and I got my allergy shots.  We are just planning on hanging out and enjoying the time spent together!  Hope you all have a great weekend!

So I know have insurance and needed to get a referral from my primary care doctor so my insurance would cover my allergist!  I had an appointment at 9:10 this morning and the appt. went well!  The Dr sent in the referral and asked if I would like a flu shot!  I said sure!  He also asked me to get some blood work done so he would have a record of my allergies!  So I was off to the lab to get blood taken!  They took 4 vials so I was a little light headed!  Both the flu shot and the blood was done in my left arm!  I then went to the allergist to get my shots!  One shot in each arm and we upped the dosage that I was given!  So my body is trying to balance the weakness from the blood being taken, the allergy shots, and the flu shot!  I have been poked by 4 needles today and is thankful that I won’t be poked by any more until later this week!  My left arm is really sore!  

James and I have today off since most of the kids at Bethel are asian and today is Chinese New Year!  We are having Ruth, Hannah, and Jireh over this afternoon!  We are looking forward to a great time!
