As of today, James and I have been married for 9 months! ¬†We have enjoyed getting to know each other much more and love being together all the time! ¬†We didn’t have big plans for today since we had a very long week! ¬†We were at the school all day 3 out of the 5 days this week. ¬†On Monday night we had meatchew (a get together to discuss a book that Matt has chosen for all of us to read) We are reading the book “Don’t Waste Your Life” by: John Piper. ¬†It has been a great book for all of us! ¬†Tuesday we actually got to spend at home, Wednesday we had church so we stayed at the school until then, Thursday James’ class was involved in a play “The Life of Fanny Crosby” ¬†and so we stayed at the school all afternoon! ¬†On Friday, we had a youth game and worship night! ¬†So we stayed at the school so we could have everything set up by 6. ¬†On most of the nights this week we didn’t get home until after 10 so we were really wiped out! ¬†This morning James slept until noon, I got up around 10:30. ¬†We had a very relaxing day today. We laft to get my allergy shots at 2:30, went to Wal-Mart, ate lunch around 3:00 at In-n-Out, then headed to the Apple Store at South Coast Plaza so I could purchase a few things for my computer. ¬†We arrived back home around 5:30 and plan on just relaxing here tonight! ¬†

The last 9 months have been wonderful!  I love James more today then I did yesterday and we are learning to handle things together.

So I will catch you up on this last week and then talk about the Couples Conference!

On Wednesday, I worked my normal scheduled hours and then went to get my allergy shots!  After that I headed back to the church to help get ready for the Beach Blast!  We had a lot of fun at the beach!  It was a little cool but not too windy so that was nice!  We enjoyed the fire, food and worship service!

On Thursday, I also had a normal work schedule.  I then had volleyball practice and then James and I headed home and did some cleaning!  We also watched Facing the Giants and had a wonderful evening together just relaxing!  We also packed to go visit my parents on Friday night!

Friday, I once again worked a normal schedule and then ran home to pick up a few things we had forgotten at home! ¬†I then headed back to the school for the last Jr High Girls volleyball game! ¬†The girls played a great game! ¬†They won! ¬†The first game we won 25-16, The second game the other team won 25-22. ¬†But we won the last game 15-12 and the girls were so happy! ¬†I am very proud of them! ¬†They played a great season! ¬†James and I left straight from the gym and headed up to Pomona to attend Lighthouse’s Couples Conference! ¬†

The Couples Conference was wonderful! ¬†We got there at 6:30 and had a sit down dinner in the fellowship hall. ¬†The first session was at 7:05 so we had to eat somewhat quickly! ¬†The first session was split and the ladies were in the youth room with Mrs. Dunlop and the guys were in the auditorium with Pastor Dunlop! ¬†The ladies session was on learning to love your husband more and I really enjoyed what Mrs. Dunlop had to say! ¬†The next session was a combined session in the auditorium and Mr. Pryde taught this one! ¬†The title was “The Anatomy of a Kiss” ¬†It was very scientific and basically he talked about how you need to communicate and how you need to make your whole day about your spouse. ¬†I also really enjoyed the split session this morning by Mrs. Pryde! ¬†She talked about how Chocolate is a really nice thing to get and how it brightens her day, but if you become bitter about things in your marriage nothing, not even encouragement, will brighten your day! ¬†She gave a lot of signs of bitterness and told that only love and forgiveness will heal bitterness! ¬†I was really¬†encouraged! ¬†

Another thing that I really enjoyed was the discussion panel they did this year!  Last night they had everyone write down a question about marriage.  Then This morning they had Pastor and Mrs. Dunlop and Mr. and Mrs. Pryde answer as many as they could!  It was nice to hear the different questions and the answers that were given!

All in all it was a great time of fellowship and learning how to become a better wife!  I am very glad that James and I went and that we have such Godly examples to follow.

So my dad is also doing much better!  He was able to work 2 half days this week and was able to go to the whole conference!  He gets tired quickly but is doing okay!  Today he came home and went to his room to take a nap!  His blood pressure is still high but it is slowly coming down!  he said this morning that he was feeling better today then he has all week so that is encouraging!

So today James and I took the day and decided to spend time with only each other! ¬†We started off with strawberry pancakes and coffee for breakfast! ¬†Around 10:00 we headed to the allergist in Chino Hills so I could get my shots! ¬†James had decided to do a destination unknown with me so I had no clue where we were headed but we were going south on the 5 fwy! ¬†Around 11:30 we arrived in San Juan Capistrano! ¬†We toured the Mission there and I got some awesome pics! ¬†After that we headed to BJ’s in Laguna Hills for lunch! ¬†It was delicious! ¬†From there James took me to Downtown Disney to a store called Basin, (it specializes in bath products) and I got some soap and stuff! ¬†We are at home and have had a wonderful day so far! ¬†James is planning on making dinner tonight and we are just relaxing around the house now! ¬†Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone!

For the beginning of the week, we had school like usual and volleyball practice!  Because of the rain yesterday I cancelled practice which was nice since we had Casey and Becky Kuhlman coming over to visit us that evening!  The volleyball game we had scheduled for Thursday got cancelled.  It was rescheduled for later in the season!  Other than this I had a fairly normal week!

Last night we went with some of the young marrieds to Newport’s boat parade. ¬†We got there around 6:45 pm and got a really good spot! ¬†Only we weren’t sure if the parade came by the spot we were at! ¬†Robin Hoiser called her dad and asked him to check the internet to find out the route and the time it was supposed to come by where we were! ¬†it was going to come by our spot but not until 8:30! ¬†We had a lot of time to kill and had great fellowship! ¬†There were three couples, including us! ¬†James and Courtney Bakan and Robin and Dave Hoiser! ¬†Finally the boats did come and we really enjoyed all of the lights and decorations! ¬†We left around 9:30 and headed to Sunset Beach to eat at the Harbor House! ¬†Lori and Eli Martinez met us there and we all got warm and had some more fun and fellowship! ¬†It was a really fun night and I am looking forward to more activities and even next years Boat Parade! ¬†

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Last night James and I had some great fellowship with other young married couples. ¬†We played some games and had lots of laughs. ¬†We enjoyed getting to know the other couples on a more personal, friendly level. ¬†We see them at church, but don’t really get to fellowship with them. ¬†We are going to be getting together with them every other week. ¬†Some weeks we will play games, others we will read through a book about spiritual growth, and others we will send the guys away to hang out and us ladies will enjoy the time to just talk! ¬†

Among other things, ¬†I am learning how to edit photos using photoshop. ¬†I took pics of a couple and am enjoying doing the editing. ¬†The pics turned out good and don’t really need much editing, but it still fun to play with them. ¬†

We are now looking forward to November 7th-9th.  James parents are going to be coming to visit us!  we are going to have Ruth with us that weekend also!  Many fun times ahead!  hope you have a great week!
