Well, it is January 13th and our Christmas tree is still up and decorated…Since we traveled for Christmas it felt like we didn’t get to enjoy it before Christmas so we left it up when we got home so we could enjoy it. I have to say I did like having it on and looking at all the cute ornaments but I am thinking it is time to take it down…Maybe that will be mine and James’ activity tonight. Along with picking up the living room and cleaning.

Since we have been home from our trip, time has flown by…We celebrated James’ birthday 4 different times in the last 2 weeks and 3 of those times included going out to eat. The first celebration was in San Francisco with his family, we enjoyed a quiet dinner at home. It was a wonderful salad bar with all things imaginable for creating a yummy salad. The second celebration was on his birthday, we went out to eat at Claim Jumper…He got a Porterhouse steak and a Red Velvet cupcake. The third celebration was with my family the Saturday after his birthday, we went to P.F.Chang’s and enjoyed a family-style chinese meal. The last celebration was on the Sunday after his birthday, we went out to lunch with friends…This was fun since we went to Famous Dave’s and out of the 20 or so people that went only 4 of us had eaten there before. It was a great week of celebrating the his 25th birthday.

We are now back in the routine of work, church, and school…James’ 5th grade class is keeping him busy along with working on a database for the youth group attendance. I am staying busy with my part-time schedule and coaching Jr High Girl’s Volleyball…We have had 2 games and lost both but I have seen marked improvement in the team.

And last but not least, my pregnancy is going smoothly…We find out gender on Monday, the 17th, and I think James is more excited than I am. I am doing well…I do tire easily but enjoy taking afternoon naps and find myself eating often, but other than that everything is pretty normal. I am so thankful for the Lord’s provision in our lives and the blessings He has given to us…I can’t find enough words to thank Him for all He has done.

Well, I am 12 weeks pregnant, which is 3 months, and I have runout of normal clothes to wear… Well that isn’t entirely true I have found my jeans to be too tight and uncomfortable around my belly! I now have one pair of maternity pants and will hopefully be getting more in the next few weeks

I am doing well…I am still really tired and get nauseous every afternoon but other than this I am doing great. My next dr appointment is on Monday.

Along with being pregnant a few other things have happened this week. I was asked to coach jr high girls volleyball again. This was kind of a surprise as I was not supposed to coach and they had a different coach, but due to some circumstances I am needed to cover the season. I am excited but a little nervous as I can’t do all the things I have done the last few years. The Athletic Director at the school gave me some rules to abide by and told me not to push myself. So we will be having practice only 3 days a week at an hour each practice.

Also James and I are planning on traveling to San Francisco for Christmas eve and then traveling with his parents, Ruth, and Daniel to Portland, Oregon on Christmas day. We will spend a week in Oregon with John, Mary, and Melissa at James’ grandparents house. I am so excited about being with the entire family for Christmas…Since I was able to be with my whole family for Thanksgiving!

Well I guess that is all for now…Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

So last week was a great week… we only had 3 days of school and then it was off to Ventura for GSACS Teacher’s Convention. I was looking forward to the 2 relaxing days and the fun of spending time with my in-laws. Well, on Thursday night I started to feel a little stuffed up and ended up getting a touch of a cold. Friday morning I slept in and enjoyed a leisurely morning at the hotel and then I rode back to my house with my in-laws. For the next 2 days we had a great time…we went to the mall, the AT&T store, Kohl’s, the Apple Store, etc… We enjoyed delicious meals planned and cooked by James and I. We watched movies and listened to music and just had a wonderful time. Alas, on Monday morning the fun time had to come to an end…James went to work and I stayed home and said good-bye to my in-laws. Because the cold I had gotten on Thursday night was still attacking I stayed home and slept the afternoon away. I did go and run volleyball practice because Coach couldn’t make it but that was all. I felt much better Tuesday and went to work…I ended up dong a K-5 nap room and the classroom was freezing. When I got home from the Girl’s volleyball game last night I wasn’t feeling well again so…I stayed home again today and was planning on going to Volleyball practice and church but decided so I don’t have to miss any more work that I would just stay home and take it easy. So that is where this post finds me…sitting bed with water on the bedside table and lots more sleep in my future.

I have been blessed to be working with friends.   James and I have also moved in this time period. We moved 6 miles from where we use to live but we are only 2.5 miles from Bethel now.  It makes our morning commute so much shorter.  Moving also made our life a little crazy these last few days.  I love our new apartment.  I am trying to get settled in our new place in between working and helping with volleyball.  I am not going to be coaching this year but I am going to be the assistant coach for all four volleyball seasons: Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys, Junior High Girls, and Junior High Boys.  I have already learned so much from the new coach in such a short time.

Well for me at the end of summer it is back to work…and because I work at a school it is also back to school. ¬†This week was Teacher in-service and as support staff I was there also. ¬†It is wonderful to work and a Christian School and be able to serve the Lord. ¬†I really enjoy working with my friends and My Love (James). ¬†This week ended up being extremely busy due to the fact that we were at work until 4 or later everyday.

Since I don’t have a classroom to decorate or orientation to prepare for I get to help put whomever needs me. ¬†It is fun to wander from classroom to classroom and staple a poster here, help move a desk there, taking these papers to this class, and copying something. ¬†It allows me to spend a little bit of time with each co-worker and to be a blessing, I hope!

Also since I wasn’t tied to the school in the afternoons I was able to help out the new volleyball coach by driving the Varsity girls to practice. ¬†I have had a great time spending time with the team and getting to know the new coach. ¬†His name is Ryan Gordon and he was on the coaching staff of the USA women’s volleyball team. ¬†He is good at what he does and I have learned a lot from him in just 2 days. ¬†He has talked about the Lord with the team and encouraged them to be committed to the Lord and it will show through in a commitment to volleyball.

So on top of being back at work and really busy, we are also packing to move. ¬†We are moving to Westminster and closer to the school. ¬†Our move date is Sept 4th which is Labor Day weekend and the first weekend after school starts. ¬†I feel like I have a ton to do and not enough time to do it in. ¬†I am trying to get as much done today and tomorrow… then we will see what else needs to be done next week. ¬†I am excited for out new apartment, but I dislike packing

So on Friday night, I went up to LBA and played in an alumni volleyball game… It was a ton of fun. The alumni team was Zaza, Melanie, Darlene, Ariel, Katrina, and myself. We made a great team and beat the LBA girls team 3 out of the 4 games… ZaZa is still an amazing volleyball player and we all worked together to come from behind in a few of the games.
This was the first time that I had worn socks and shoes since I burned my feet the week before… My feet were starting to heal and getting ready to peel but they weren’t quite there yet. So as I was playing and the socks were rubbing on the tops of my feet the skin was trying to protect itself. To do this it formed very thing blisters on the tops of my feet… these blisters popped almost immediately after I took my socks off… So Friday night my feet started peeling and now they look really funny… They were not completely ready to peel so I have to be careful that they don’t get to irritated… So I am back to flip flops. Hopefully by the end of the week I will be able to wear different shoes comfortably.

Well… Jr High volleyball is done. ¬†The girls learned a lot and had a great season. ¬†We had our last match today, it was a playoff game and whoever won was going to the championship on Thursday. ¬†We lost, but we won one of the 3 games played so I have nothing to complain about. ¬†My girls played their hardest and enjoyed learning the game of Volleyball. ¬†They are all winners in my book because the all accomplished a goal that they had set for them self at the beginning of the season. ¬†I loved being their coach and enjoyed the opportunity to teach them about a sport I love. ¬†I was also able to encourage them to let the Lord get the glory for wins and losses. ¬†We had a wonderful time drawing closer to the Lord and learning how to honor Him.

So we didn’t win first place in the division, but we did get 3rd. ¬†Yes, we would have loved to win 1st place but the Lord knew we need the lesson in humility. ¬†I for one appreciate the learning processes and the chance to try again next year.

So on our day off on Monday, which I blogged about, James took me out to dinner at BJ’s. ¬†I like their pizza but I like their pazookie more. ¬†We enjoyed some delicious pizza and a three pazookie sampler with Triple Chocolate, White Chocolate Macadamia, and Cookies and Creme. ¬†It was all so good and I was so full. ¬†We headed home and watched some more olympics and then went to bed… I woke up around 3:30am not feeling well.

I had the 24 hour flu and it hit me at 3:30am… not the most wonderful time to get sick, but then is there ever a wonderful time to get sick? ¬†Needless to say on Tuesday I stayed home from work and spent the day sleeping… Thankfully I survived the day with only a fever and some aches… I still had a fever that night so I stayed home on Wednesday also.

On Thursday I was back at work in the swing of things… I still had to turn in my passport application since I had been sick on Tuesday and Wednesday. ¬†So on Thursday afternoon I ventured to the post office to get things turned in… When I arrived I realized I didn’t have a copy of my driver’s license and so I had to get copies made and get my passport photos taken. ¬†Thankfully I got everything done and turned in and was back at the school to take my Jr High girls to their volleyball game… We lost by only a few points which I think is good considering we didn’t have any practice this week.

Today, Friday, I have had a fairly normal day. ¬†I am subbing in 4th grade this afternoon, but they are doing seatwork so it is an easy class… I do have practice with my girls and I think James has a softball game, but it is the weekend so I am okay with a busier evening.

I have been watching a lot of the olympics… being sick the beginning part of the week helped with that. ¬†On Wednesday, I watched the very interesting sport of Curling, Yes you read that right, Curling… It is actually quite nail biting. ¬†You slide the rock to get it to curl just right into Home. ¬†The closest Rock at the end of the End wins a point.

I have also enjoyed figure skating, snowboarding, hockey, skiing, speed skating, etc… I happen to enjoy pretty much any sport. ¬†I am looking forward to the many events still to come.

I have a super busy week next week with a normal day Monday, ¬†a “Women in Sport’s” Seminar on Tuesday with some of the high school girls, a Jr High volleyball game at home on Tuesday evening, Jr High girl’s volleyball pictures on Wednesday, Church, a Jr High volleyball game at home on Thursday, and I don’t know of any special plans for Friday night yet…

Hope you all have a great weekend and a good week!

Well, the new year is here and it brought tiredness and work with it. ¬†I am doing good, just tired from to many late nights on vacation and traveling. ¬†On New Year’s Eve, James, Ruth, Daniel, and I stayed up playing Wii until midnight and then went out onto the porch to watch some of the fireworks across the bay. ¬†We said our Happy New Years… finished our game and went to bed. ¬†Mom and Dad had been up playing games with us but went to bed around 10. ¬†It was a very nice and relaxing vacation. ¬†We didn’t really go places, We did the whole “I am going to the mall, Does anybody else want to come?” We never all went the same place together. ¬†It was much more fun to stay home and enjoy the time together. ¬†We got home on Saturday night and have been going none stop ever since.

I have been back at work for 2 days and I am already getting some extra hours so that is nice. ¬†I am also coaching jr. high girl’s volleyball and the first game of our season is on Thursday. ¬†I am looking forward to it… I am also hoping for a winning season, but I don’t know if I will get that. ¬†Yesterday was James’ 24th birthday. ¬†One of his students brought him a cake and we went out to dinner with my parents, Tim, and Ruth. ¬†TGI Friday’s has good food and after we had stuffed ourselves we got our dessert to go and headed to our house to play some Wii and hang out. ¬†It was a great ending to my vacation.

I am back to being busy.  I have volleyball practice Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri from 3:45-5:00.  The extra time is nice for James since it gives him time to work on stuff at school and church.  I am also able to volunteer in the school office and I really enjoy that.

I hope you all had a great vacation.

So all of my faithful readers already know about my allergies. I am doing well with my shots and have even been able to increase my shot doses without having an allergic reaction to them. ¬†I have had to double dose on my antihistamine and make sure that I always have my epipen with me. ¬†I have not had bronchitis yet this year and I have been able to spend much more time outdoors without having such a hard time breathing. ¬†Last time I got my shot I had a localized allergic reaction (a big bump and lots of itching where I had gotten my shots) so today I was taken down one dose and given the shots. ¬†We will see how I do on this on for the next couple of weeks. I am doing great other than that. ¬†I am almost to the point where they will increase the strength of the dose I am getting (Yellow bottle to red bottle). ¬†I still have asthma problems every now and then but those are usually when I have been running, laughing, or doing both at the same time. ¬†I am sore today from helping with varsity girl’s volleyball yesterday… I haven’t exercised like that all summer.

Among other news… my favorite tv show (Sue Thomas F.B.eye) is planning on putting out all 3 seasons on dvd, officially. ¬†This show is a very clean family oriented show that speaks about the Lord the way He should be revered and honored. ¬†They don’t cuss or use the Lord’s name in vain, ever! ¬†It is about a deaf FBI agent who reads lips, signs, and speaks. ¬†She has a hearing dog and they are both part of the surveillance team. ¬†Great acting, great plots, great humor, clean show.
