Sat, 31 Jul 2010 03:25:03 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.9.2 en hourly 1 Traveling sick http://naesheart.com/2009/12/28/traveling-sick/ http://naesheart.com/2009/12/28/traveling-sick/#comments Mon, 28 Dec 2009 22:05:05 +0000 Renae http://naesheart.com/?p=743 So this morning James and I got on the road at 6:10 am… I didn’t sleep very well last night and started out the morning feeling slightly sick.  As we drove it I started feeling progressively worse.  Around 7:30 am we stopped and got gas, coffee, and breakfast.  I thought maybe if I eat something I will feel a little better, but it didn’t help.  At our next stop I got some water and was feeling about the same.  I did okay just having pretty bad stomach pain but nothing more… well about 10 minutes from Mom and Dad’s the pain hit me and I lost it… on the freeway.  Thankfully we had a bag without holes in it and kleenex.  James got off the freeway and used side streets to get to mom and dad’s.  I am doing okay still having stomach pain every now and then, but alive.  I think the stomach pain is being caused by an allergic reaction due to cross-contamination.  We went to CPK last night for dinner and they do make a shrimp pizza… I am allergic to shrimp so if anything shrimp touched my pizza I could get sick.  If I ingest straight shrimp I will have a really bad reaction with hives and asthma and have to use my epipen.  Thankfully this is not the case.

So right now I am resting on the couch and James is playing Wii Mario Carts with Ruth and Daniel.  We are looking forward to a great week! :)

James and I have finished our Christmas shopping and are enjoying our vacation. We attended Christmas parties last week and also the Boat Parade in Newport Beach. I have had a great time and am looking forward to spending Christmas with James and enjoying Christmas dinner with my parents and brother. I have sweets all over my house, the advantages of being a teacher’s wife. On the 28th we are heading up to San Francisco to spend New Year’s with James’ family. We will also be spending a day in the city with some friends who are coming up to visit. It is going to be a lot of fun. I have been playing Christmas music non-stop and enjoying all the sights and sounds of Christmas. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas. To see pictures of the Boat Parade please click here

]]> http://naesheart.com/2009/12/10/my-favorite-christmas-video/feed/ 3 I love Christmas http://naesheart.com/2009/12/02/i-love-christmas/ http://naesheart.com/2009/12/02/i-love-christmas/#comments Wed, 02 Dec 2009 20:40:09 +0000 Renae http://naesheart.com/?p=712 I am telling the truth… I absolutely love Christmas.  It is my favorite time of the year.  I love the reason we celebrate Christmas and all of the meaning behind this season.  I love Christmas music, the decorations, spending time with family, the secrecy of presents, and rejoicing in the birth of Christ.  It makes me sick to see people so caught up in all the festivities that they for get about the real reason of the season.  I am all about giving presents but I think that if you don’t honor Christ and make Christmas all about gifts then you have missed out on a blessing.

This will be mine and James’ 2nd Christmas as a married couple.  It will however be our first Christmas at home, just the 2 of us.  We will be joining my parents for Christmas dinner.  I am looking forward to the many traditions that we will establish this year.  We just finished decorating on Monday night and I am very excited about it.  We got a 4′ fake tree and it is sitting on our table.  I love our tree.  I would love to have a real one, but I am allergic. This week has been a very busy Christmas week.  Today I did narration for a k-4/k-5 Christmas program and tonight is the 1st-6th grade Christmas program.  I am not a part of this but since James is I am in a way.  I will be here and be helping out.  I am not upset about this… Remember I like Christmas… it is the kids I can’t handle. jk  On Friday night there is a High School Drama production… yep you guessed it, it is Christmas also!

I hope you are all enjoying your holiday season.  Only 2 1/2 weeks of school before Christmas vacation… then we get 2 weeks off to enjoy all the festivities!  Just don’t forget that Jesus is the one who gave us Christmas… Without Him we would have nothing to celebrate!

]]> http://naesheart.com/2009/12/02/i-love-christmas/feed/ 3 A Really Long Day http://naesheart.com/2009/11/27/a-really-long-day/ http://naesheart.com/2009/11/27/a-really-long-day/#comments Sat, 28 Nov 2009 04:05:37 +0000 Renae http://naesheart.com/?p=709 Well… I am on Thanksgiving vacation and it has been fun but tiring all ready.  It started on Wednesday around 12:45 when we left Bethel and headed up to San Francisco.  James, Ruth and I had a good trip and it only took us 7 hrs and 42 min.  This means we made really good time seeing as it was the day right before Thanksgiving.  On Thursday morning we headed out to Oroville, which is where Grandpa Richardson lives.  We had a great afternoon eating turkey and pie, playing games, and really just being with the family.

We left Oroville at 10:00 at night… Yes, that late!  We arrived at the Vacaville Outlets at Midnight. It was packed and crazy.  Some of the stores had lines down the side of the building and lines around the whole inside of the store.  It was so much fun… we left the outlets at 3:00 and headed to the JC Penney at Hilltop Mall we arrived there at 4:00 and did a little more shopping.  We went to Nations for breakfast and then headed home to get a few hours of sleep before we did more shopping. It was 6:00 and we were all tired, but we were back up and headed out shopping again at 11:00.  We hit Target, Kohl’s, Fry’s and Wal-Mart.  We arrived back home at 4:00 and we are definitely having a lazy evening at home.  Ruth fixed dinner and we are watching a Christmas movie as a family.

Good deals you ask. Of course we got some good deals, but I can’t reveal any of them since that is classified information until Christmas.  James and I did get a 4′ Christmas tree, a tree topper, and some ornaments.  Our first Christmas tree.

Tomorrow we are going to be decorating for Christmas and James and Dad are going to a car show.  We are having a great time and have had many good laughs.  Like today in the car I opened a bag of gummi bears and the bag exploded sending gummi bears all over the backseat.  We picked up as many as we could find and then dad decided to flick them out the window while we were sitting at a stop light. So he did… I found out that my family gets crazy when they are tired.  Check out Pictures here

]]> http://naesheart.com/2008/12/25/christmas-with-the-ashtons/feed/ 1 Christmas with the Wilson’s http://naesheart.com/2008/12/22/christmas-with-the-wilsons/ http://naesheart.com/2008/12/22/christmas-with-the-wilsons/#comments Mon, 22 Dec 2008 21:29:59 +0000 Renae http://naesheart.com/?p=343 So this is going to be part one of Christmas’ posts!  Last night, James and I went to Lighthouses Cantata and then headed to my parents house so we could do Christmas with them!  Since we were going to be in San Francisco for Christmas we wanted to give my parents their gifts before we left!  So after church we headed home and my mom made pizza.  While it was cooking we talked and enjoyed time together.  After we ate we opened our gifts!  Some of the things I got were: a pair of black and a pair of khaki pants from my parents, Ratatouille from Rebekah and Matt.  James got: a nice dress shirt and tie from my parents, a journal from my parents, a gun for out Wii from Rebekah and Matt.  We also got a couple gifts together.  We got: a GPS from Tim, and a set of Wii Sports Nerf controllers from my parents!  All in all we had a wonderful time and enjoyed being with them!  

At 6:00 this morning we loaded up our truck and headed out for San Francisco!  We made the trip in almost exactly 6 hours!  We only made one stop and that was for gas and the bathroom!  It is nice to be out of the car and able to relax for a little bit!

]]> http://naesheart.com/2008/12/22/christmas-with-the-wilsons/feed/ 0 Boat Parade http://naesheart.com/2008/12/20/boat-parade/ http://naesheart.com/2008/12/20/boat-parade/#comments Sun, 21 Dec 2008 03:28:07 +0000 Renae http://naesheart.com/?p=340 Last night we went with some of the young marrieds to Newport’s boat parade.  We got there around 6:45 pm and got a really good spot!  Only we weren’t sure if the parade came by the spot we were at!  Robin Hoiser called her dad and asked him to check the internet to find out the route and the time it was supposed to come by where we were!  it was going to come by our spot but not until 8:30!  We had a lot of time to kill and had great fellowship!  There were three couples, including us!  James and Courtney Bakan and Robin and Dave Hoiser!  Finally the boats did come and we really enjoyed all of the lights and decorations!  We left around 9:30 and headed to Sunset Beach to eat at the Harbor House!  Lori and Eli Martinez met us there and we all got warm and had some more fun and fellowship!  It was a really fun night and I am looking forward to more activities and even next years Boat Parade!
