So I had a follow up appointment with my opthamologist and the diagnoses is I have Chronic Dry Eyes caused by allergy inflammation. I find this funny since all my eyes do is water‚Ķbut the symptoms of dry eyes is that your eyes water but they aren’t forming the proper lubricant that your eyes need. Because if this dry spots form on your eyes, which when rubbed off by your eyelids form strings of mucous. Since these strings of mucous are heavier then the watery substance in my eyes they don’t wash out and cause major irritation.
So to help my eyes get back to making their own natural tears and the proper lubricants I am on Restasis for a minimum of 6 months. I am glad the diagnoses was a simple one and that it is treatable in such a simple way. God is good to me.
On to other news…I visited my parents yesterday and had a wonderful time.
I enjoyed seeing Melanie and Miriam at church.
I love the Wilson kids and would really enjoy a visit from them. Even if I did see them just yesterday.
I am still working on settling into the new apartment.
I live the things kids say and am so happy to be working with them.
Guess that is all for this post, have a great weekend.

If you can’t tell from the title I am being sarcastic… I don’t hate doctors but I do get anxiety every time I am going to see a new doctor for the first time. ¬†In the last 3 weeks I have been to 2 new doctors and am going to a 3rd one this afternoon…

Why all the new doctors you ask? Well I happen to have switched my Medical group in August and that means going to a new allergist.  I had to visit my Primary Care Doctor to get a referral to an allergist and also an opthamologist.  So the first appointment was establishing care and getting referrals, thankfully I really like my new dr so that was fairly painless.

The opthamologist on the other hand I was so nervous…I was literally shaking in the waiting room. Now that appointment was painless also…I was given a prescription for steroid eye drops. ¬†The dr said that it looked like all my eye problems were caused by allergies but my eyes were really inflamed and these drops would calm them down and hopefully fix the problem. ¬†I have to go back and see her in a month.

This afternoon is a new allergist and I am once again nervous. ¬†I had been going to the same allergist for almost 3 years so it is a big step. ¬†I am hoping that I don’t have to have another “back prick” allergy test, but if that is what he wants to do then I guess I will survive.

All these dr visits are teaching me to trust the Lord…I get so caught up in what I am going through that I forget to trust the Lord. I am gradually learning to look to Him no matter what is going on. ¬†Why do I struggle with this? ¬†Why is it so hard? I know that I believe in Him but why can’t I put my trust in Him to control the situation. ¬†He already knows what the outcome will be yet I still think that I can manipulate it to be what I want!

“Lord, help me to put my trust in you and to not fear. ¬†Help me to let you have control of every situation. ¬†Teach me let go of my fear and to humbly allow you to guide my life! I love you, Lord.”

So as everyone knows Easter is this Sunday. ¬†This is one of the Sunday’s that many people, who don’t normally attend church, venture out to darken the door of a church building. ¬†It is also a time when many churches tell the story of the Crucifixion through songs and drama. ¬†At Bethel we are doing a Passion Play. ¬†We have put in so many hours of practice that I was singing the songs in my head when I went to bed last night. ¬†We are doing 2 performances, one on Friday night and one on Easter Sunday morning.

Not only has practice made life busy but we just finished our Missions Conference week.  It was a great week but we were at church every night from Wednesday to Sunday.  James and I also had the privilege to help paint some of the set for the play.  It looks wonderful but has kept us busy.

After the Play performance on Sunday morning James and I will be heading to San Francisco for Spring break.  We will get to spend time with his family and also John, Mary, and Melissa.

I took yesterday off work to go see my allergist since I had been having problems with really watery eyes. ¬†I am now on Zithromax and Prednisone, along with allergy eye drops and antibiotic eye drops. ¬†Hopefully I will be feeling better in the next few days. ¬†The Prednisone is a steroid and for those of you who don’t know these make me really hungry and I eat all day long. ¬†I have been on them once before and ate more than James, so the next week should be fun! ¬†Along with going to see the dr I also did 6 loads of laundry.

So this morning James and I got on the road at 6:10 am… I didn’t sleep very well last night and started out the morning feeling slightly sick. ¬†As we drove it I started feeling progressively worse. ¬†Around 7:30 am we stopped and got gas, coffee, and breakfast. ¬†I thought maybe if I eat something I will feel a little better, but it didn’t help. ¬†At our next stop I got some water and was feeling about the same. ¬†I did okay just having pretty bad stomach pain but nothing more… well about 10 minutes from Mom and Dad’s the pain hit me and I lost it… on the freeway. ¬†Thankfully we had a bag without holes in it and kleenex. ¬†James got off the freeway and used side streets to get to mom and dad’s. ¬†I am doing okay still having stomach pain every now and then, but alive. ¬†I think the stomach pain is being caused by an allergic reaction due to cross-contamination. ¬†We went to CPK last night for dinner and they do make a shrimp pizza… I am allergic to shrimp so if anything shrimp touched my pizza I could get sick. ¬†If I ingest straight shrimp I will have a really bad reaction with hives and asthma and have to use my epipen. ¬†Thankfully this is not the case.

So right now I am resting on the couch and James is playing Wii Mario Carts with Ruth and Daniel.  We are looking forward to a great week!
