Memories

As I sit on the playground and watch
All the children play
My mind always goes back
To the place and the day

When I was a child in school
With no cares in the world
I remember playing dodgeball and tag
Or capture the flag

Enjoying time with my friends
While giggling and hiding in trees
Or playing house in the sand
Smiling and laughing at the scenes

I remember rainy days
and all the fun we had
Coloring, drawing and talking loud
Our teacher wishing for sun instead

I miss those days of carefree play
I would love to go back and be
That elementary student
If only it could be!

    It can only be for a little while and only in a few ways but you can go back to being that person again.
