Nae's Heart

Well I had a fun trip! ¬†We took a good group of teens! ¬†We took 15 jr. high and high schoolers! ¬†They all had a great time! ¬†We met at Denny’s at 5:30 on Thursday morning and had breakfast then took off around 7:00! ¬†It was a 4 hour drive, but seemed to pass fairly quickly! ¬†We got to our motel around 11:15 and checked in and changed then headed over to VCA for lunch! ¬†At 1:30 we had orientation and then competition began! ¬†We didn’t have a super busy schedule so we enjoyed being able to watch others compete and also our students! ¬†My In-laws were there with their school from San Francisco so I got to spend some time with them! ¬†We had dinner around 7:00 and watched the music competition in the auditorium after that! ¬†At around 8:00 some of our group headed back to the hotel, but we still had one student playing chess and so I stayed to wait for him! ¬†He was playing the championship game and he won! ¬†He finished around 9:15 and we headed back to the hotel! ¬†

Friday morning we had to be at VCA for breakfast at 7:00 am and then we had students in spelling bee at 8:00. ¬†I had been invited to go to breakfast with my in-laws so I dropped the students off at the school and headed back to the hotel to have breakfast! ¬†I got to spend about 3 hours with my in-laws and then we all headed back to VCA! ¬†We got there around 10:00 and had about an hour before we had to be in the auditorium for the final service and awards ceremony! ¬†So we wandered through the art rooms and enjoyed the Starbucks that had been brought to us! ¬†We went into the auditorium for the service and awards ceremony! ¬†That finished around 1:50 and we said our good-byes! ¬†Our group headed to Carl’s Jr. for lunch and then we hit the road for the trip home! ¬†We drove for about 2 hours and then stopped for an hour and 1/2 at the outlets in Camarillo, we did this so we wouldn’t be sitting in traffic! ¬†We got back on the road around 6:30 and arrived back at the school at 8:15! ¬†It was a fun trip! ¬†Our students did very well and won a few awards! ¬†I will try to remember them! ¬†:)

Today I am relaxing at home and enjoying the afternoon!
