James and I have had a very busy week.  Teacher in-Service started this week.  We were here every morning at 7:30 and didn’t head home until around 3:00 each afternoon!  We were here until 7:30 a couple of nights due to orientation!  We are worn out and looking forward to the weekend.  Right now as I am typing this James, Spencer, and Tim are hanging a projector in a HS classroom.  I am just hanging out.  Congratulations to Sheree and Alan on their engagement and Matt and Rebekah owning a home!  We will be posting pics of James’ classroom soon.  Hope you all have had a great and relaxing week!

Well, James and I had a great day yesterday!  James worked in the morning, got off early and we headed to the beach!  We spent 6 hours in the sun and sand!  James went boogie boarding and I took pics and had fun watching him!  Around 6 some families from Bethel came and joined us.  We enjoyed the fellowship of the adults and amusement that the kids provided!  It was a peaceful and relaxing day before we start “Teacher In Service” and school!  Please continue to keep us in your prayers!

Tyler Mark Wilkerson

Tyler WilkersonTyler Mark Wilkerson went home to be with Lord on Friday, August 15, 2008, around 11:00 p.m. He was involved in a car accident near San Jose, CA.
Tyler was born on February 27, 1991, in Bellflower, California, to John and Linda Wilkerson. He was the oldest of 8 children. He was one very special young man, known for being Christ-honoring, polite, fun-loving, friendly, hard-working, respectful, dedicated, and handsome. He accepted Christ as his Saviour on his 10th birthday, and was very active serving the Lord in his church and youth group. He loved to sing and did so in specials with school groups, in church groups, as a family, and in the adult church choir. He was an active soul-winner, and helped to teach a 1st and 2nd grade Sunday School Class, which had two of his younger brothers in attendance. He was a faithful tither and generous giver to World-Wide Evangelization. He was passionate about missions giving. He loved playing the sport of basketball, and he also enjoyed playing flag football for his school. His favorite NFL team was, by far, The Patriots. During his junior year of High School, he was a licensed Junior Referee for the City of Carson Youth Sports Program, and worked at Baskin Robbins Ice Cream. For five weeks this summer, he returned to work as a teen volunteer at The Bill Rice Ranch in Murfreesboro, TN.

The week before he went to heaven, he went as a Jr. Camp counselor. How special that week was being with his mom, who was there as the camp cook, along with 4 of his younger siblings, with whom he enjoyed a fun week little knowing that it would be their last. Often one would see Tyler with one of his younger brothers in his arms, on his shoulders, or by the hand. He loved his family very much. He was heard to say, “I just want to honor my parents…they have done so much for me. I never want to break their hearts by something I may do.” He was a true blessing to his parents. He ended this life strong for God.

He is survived by his parents, John and Linda Wilkerson, his siblings, Derrick (13), Preston (11), Lydia (9), Drew (7), Coleman (6), Judson (3), and Mason (1); his Grandpa and Grandma Francis, Nana Wilkerson, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with a multitude of friends, all who want him and others to know that he is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

There will be a viewing on Friday, August 22, 2008, from 5:00 – 8:30 p.m. The homegoing service will be on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. The service will be held in the Main Auditorium of First Baptist Church. It is the family’s request, that, in lieu of flowers, please make any contributions to the cause of World-Wide Evangelization in his memory.

If you would like, you can send an email to the Wilkersons.

Please also keep in your prayers Manny Madula and his family. Bro. Madula is still suffering from heart complications due to the accident.

Tent camp was sooo much fun!  I am super tired and will be catching up on sleep for the next few days!  I took lots of pics and will try to get some of them up.  We started out at the beach-surfing and then went to a park for lunch and some soccer.  Around 1:15 pm we headed to the camp ground and started to set up our tents!  We had some free time until dinner at 6.  James came and joined us every night and drove into work during the day.  On Wed. we had breakfast and devotions then went on a short hike!  After the hike we came back and had a little bit of free time before lunch.  After lunch we headed to the field to play some more soccer.  Some of the other activities that the teens used to pass time were: Hackie Sack, volleyball, singing, drawing, reading, and just hanging out!  We had a wonderful time!  Thanks to Matt who put a lot of time and thought into it!

James and I are going tent camping with the teens this week!  We head to the beach at 7:00am tomorrow morning and will be gone until 12:00pm Thursday afternoon!  We are looking forward to see what the Lord will do in the lives of the teenagers and in our own lives!  James will be working at the school during the day but spending the night with us.  I will be there the whole time!  Please pray that the Lord will touch hearts and lives.  I will post an update when we get back to let you know how things go!  I will have my cell phone but won’t necessarily answer it.  Hope you have a great week!

So we had an evangelist at church lat night and he challenged us to win souls to Christ.  It was an excellent message, very convicting!  It wasn’t one of those if you don’t win souls you are not a good Christian, but a message about how souls are close to God’s heart and are they close to ours.  I was convicted about my testimony and am I really trying to love people the way God does!  I sometimes get so caught up in my own life that I forget about the people around me who have no hope.  I realized that I need to start looking for someone I can be a blessing to instead of maybe avoiding them because I don’t want to deal with their problems!  I enjoyed the way he emphasized prayer.  He didn’t push the issue of door knocking but he pounded out the issue of prayer.  he said that if we bath our soul winning in prayer God will lead us to the right doors, and you won’t have to knock very many until you find the one that is ready to hear about salvation.  I am praying that the Lord will start to use me and that I will allow Him to guide me in this area!

I have realized in my life that God is good all the time!  I am not sure what you may be going through, but God knows and cares about you!  I moved to Orange County when I got married and my allergists office was in Rancho Cucamonga. That was an hour from where I was living and gas was super expensive!  They just opened a new allergist office in Chino Hills. Only 20-25 minutes from where we live!  I am really happy!  I also have a job lined up for the school year. I will be working 1-3:30, 5 days a week for Bethel Baptist School!  This is an answer to prayer because it is not a super demanding schedule and will allow me to get things done at home in the mornings!  James and I have been blessed to make it through the summer with just him working.  We are looking forward to what the Lord has for our lives!

So our Saturday night started out super fun.  We had plans to “go out to dinner” with Rebekah Jenkins and Spencer Bales!  We were actually in on an awesome surprise for Rebekah!  She thought we were going to hang out together all night, but we were actually just Spencer’s cover!  We dropped them off at an office building, got back in the car and left.  Rebekah was so confused, but Spencer told her that he wanted a little bit of time alone with her because of her leaving for college soon and him just getting out of boot camp and a military class!  She bought the story and thought nothing of the situation.  Spencer told her that we were coming back to pick them up!  We weren’t of course, but she didn’t need to know that at the moment!  Spencer paid for a Gondola ride around the Newport Harbor and while they were on the ride he proposed.  It was super exciting.  Then a limo came and picked them up and they went and had dessert on the beach!  What a romantic evening!  James and I went out to dinner at Red Robin and then came home.  congratulations to the newly engaged couple!!!!!

Last night, James and I went to the OC fair!  It was a ton of fun and we enjoyed spending the time together.  We walked around the whole thing and then got some food and sat down to watch the Peking Acrobats.  After, the show we walked around again and found a cool sand sculpture to take some pics of.  Then we headed to the truck and came home.  It was a nice relaxing evening with no rush.  I will try to get pics up soon.  Hope you all have a good day!
